Easter Sunday
Resurrection Day
Before sunrise, "Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave" (Matthew 28:1-10). The stone was rolled away and inside it was empty. An angel had descended and told them that Christ was not here but was heading to Galilee.
The women went to Jesus’ followers to give them the good news.
Jesus appeared to his followers. However not all of them believed he was the Jesus that had been crucified.
Doubting Thomas had said:
“Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe” (John 20:25).
"Put your finger here and look at my hands. Put your hand in my side. Don't doubt it any more. Believe!"

Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his death. This was the final proof that Jesus was the Son of God.
What happens on this day?
