Palm Sunday
Passion of Christ
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days of entombment. This is his miracle which the people of Jerusalem heard of and rejoiced, waving palm leaves in victory believing that Jesus would be the one to overthrow Roman rule. But Jesus already knew his mission and his ultimate fate.
He rode into Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives on a donkey, arriving just as foretold of the Messiah in Zechariah 9:9.
"Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" (Matthew 21:9, NIV)
