    Jesus and his disciples stay at the house of Simon the leper where Jesus is anointed with expensive oil by a woman worshipping him at his feet. Judas had wanted to sell the oil and keep its profit.

    Judas has decided he will give Jesus to the Sanhedrin for 30 pieces of silver, but he hides amongst the disciples in secret, awaiting his moment to betray Jesus, he is at this moment, a spy.

    What happens on this day?

    The Tenebrae service is observed where candles on the candelabra are extinguished to symbolise darkness and a strepitus (a loud noise) sounds. The strepitus interpreted as the earthquake which was said to have occurred at Jesus' death.
